Touch down in Paro and kickstart your birding journey along the Paro River, home to Ibisbill, Brown Dipper, and Wallcreeper. Enjoy breathtaking valley views as you settle into Bhutan’s serene beauty.

🟧 Day 2: High-Altitude Birding at Chele La Pass (3,988m) 🦜⛰️

Venture to Chele La Pass, Bhutan’s highest motorable road, to spot Himalayan Monal, Satyr Tragopan, and Kalij Pheasant. Soak in the panoramic Himalayan scenery before heading to Thimphu.

Explore Dochula Pass, scanning for Fire-tailed Myzornis and Ward’s Trogon. Descend into the misty Phobjikha Valley, winter home of the iconic Black-necked Crane.

Birding at Shatang La Pass, seeking Blood Pheasant and other high-altitude species. Arrive at Phrumsengla National Park, a biodiversity hotspot where Red Pandas and Ward’s Trogon roam.

Two full days exploring Lingmethang Road, one of the world’s finest birding routes! Spot Rufous-necked Hornbill, Beautiful Nuthatch, and Ward’s Trogon in lush subtropical forests.
